Indian mobile subscriber base

Communications minister with government of India, Dayanidhi Maran said that "the number is expected to grow to 500 million in the next four years". He was speaking about the cellular subscribers in the country. At this moment the total cellular subscriber base in India is estimated at 175 million. Looking at this trend, India might soon leave China behind which at the end of 2006 is estimated to have a subscriber base of around 440 million.
