A Walled Garden approach
What is a Walled Garden approach?
Walled Garden approach is one where the wireless network provides its end users with a portal where the users can apparently access everything that they might need for their mobile phones. Airtel Live service is one such example which is provided free to the users and they are paid for any download(s) that they opt for, only.
The biggest disadvantage of this approach is that the network provider can restrict access to any content provider. Latest example being the blocking of streamed video services to the 3G phone users. Hope this is not a trend that stays.
