Malaware targeting Symbian based mobile phones

A McAfee blogger quoted of a website claimes that a new breed of malaware for mobile phones is developing. Looking at the increasing usage of mobile phone and increasing trend of malawares spreading, it is a disturbing trend.

A malaware called MobiSpy.A which targets Symbian based mobile phones is based on the SMS recording software. This installs itself on the mobile phone and records and sends the incoming and outgoing SMS to a remote server. It can also track the phone numbers of all incoming and outgoing calls.

A disturbing pattern indeed.
