License of a major GSM operator suspended
Although the action of the Uzbekistan's government telecoms regulator sounds a little over the top to me, but they must have had their reason when they suspended the license of their 3rd largest GSM mobile phone operator on Wednesday after a service outage that lasted 2 hours. Although I am fighting with myself to not smell rat in this, but the telecom firm Coscom, which has a 87% equity of a major U.S. telecoms firm named, MCT Corp. could not be reached for comment. They have around 378,000 subscribers who are still able to use the domestic network.
