Reliance in talks for creating telecom tower company

Reliance Communications is reportedly in talks with two US based companies to fund its aspiration of building a company unit that would be engaged in creating a telecoms tower company. This would free Reliance itself from creating the infrastructure and they can concentrate on building the communication business.

According to the report, two private equity groups named Blackstone and Carlyle are in talks with Reliance to fund up to $1 billion to create this unit. Two other tower management company are also on table to take stake in this new company.

Google is beta testing its Mobile based Text ads in eight more countries other than US, UK, Japan and Germany which include India and China.

Different types of flooring

I have always loved the Marble and Granite stone flooring.

The main reason for my liking of them is that they remain very cool even in the scorching hot months of May and June. You can get your clothes off and lie down of the bare marble and it will feel as if you are lying on a water bed. The only problem being it is much hard as compared to a water bed. But the better part is that it does not need as much maintainence as a water bed.

Another type of flooring that I have always liked in the Laminate Flooring which beats any other kind of flooring in the chic factor.

A new photography resource

The problem [on the second thoughts this can not be really called as a problem] with photographs now a days is that you can play with them. Play in a way that you can tweak the content, change the real reflection of reality. I would want to see a gallery of photographs which have not been tweaked in Photoshop or anything like that. Because that is where the true quality of a photograph is reflected.

What I would have liked would be a rating system for the articles so that the excellent articles are always at the top. This would be helpful where the resource would grow and become too big to do exact searches.

The software is called SecureClient Mobile and it secures the devices that communicate with the the corporate networks. Popup advertisement banners on Mobiles

Yahoo will start testing banner based advertisement on the devices of their users who are the mobile subscribers of major US based network carriers starting later on this week.

The banners would not take more than a quarter of the mobile screen and the user would be able to choose between visiting the advertiser's website or remain at the original page. This would make the service device dependent. The subscribers would see these advertisements while using browser based Yahoo! mobile services and while using Yahoo! mobile web email.

Great subscription deals on magazines

I am amazed by the power of Internet in some or the other way, everyday.

I today saw MagazinePriceSearch.com. This is a magazine subscription search website. They search the subscription rates of huge range of magazines on their website. They have got categories ranging from Antiques, to hobbies to Sci-fi magazines and journals. I mean, you name it and you have it.

Two magazines that I would like to immediately subscribe for would be the PC Magazine and Wired. PC Magazine is available at around $0.53 per issue. This is incredible [the only disappointment being no great business magazine deals available presently]. I wish they ship the magazines to international markets too.

Brighter and better LCD screens

A display technology company named Clairvoyante has developed a new technology that can be implemented in the present TFT-LCD display technology based screens.

With the help of the technology, the pixels are rendered in a different way which results in better screen resolution and more brightness. Also, the screen could be viewed at wider angles with the help of this technology. And all this happens with less power consumption which makes it all the more attractive.

The technology named PenTile RGBW enables the sub-pixels to appear on the screen which makes the image richer with the help of a chip. In addition to the traditional RGB colored pixels, a new White colored pixel is also added which leads to much brighter and more clear images on the LCD screen. This happens because the White helps more amount of light to pass through.

Many companies have been reportedly licensed this technology for use in their devices.

Dinner with PPP People

It has been some days since I have been associated with PPP and the association has been fruitful in terms of monetary gains for me. I frankly do not know if my blog has helped any of the end clients [although I know that PPP is making money], but I would love to hear that the end client actually made some money and I was party to it. Be it the case or not, I would surely like celebrate this association in a way. Before that, I was reading an email which a PPP postie has blogged about and it said that WordPress has asked all the PPP blogger to either remove their blog(s) or PPP posts from their blog(s) if they wanted to continue hosting their blog on Wordpress.com.

Funny, but I was really not able to understand the reason behind it. If they are allergic to paid posts then they should know that all the blogs which are not entirely personal endorse something or the other. And all of them, mind you all of them, endorse the [free] platform they have got their blog hosted on.

And I would want to discuss all this with Ted. I mean it has been more than one month since I start writing PPP posts and I have lots of questions about the future and present which I think Ted would be able to answer. I mean, as a postie Ted would be the best guy to translate the meaning of paid blogging into the vision of PPP. And I would take him to a Indian restaurant [for obvious reasons] and order all the curries. Firstly, because I know about Indian food and second I know it would be hot to handle for him and work him up to give me some real optimistic answers about the great future of PPP. And of course, we need to find an ice cream parlor to douse all the smoke after hot Indian curry dinner ;)

Broadband based services for Hutch mobile subscribers

Microsoft has entered into a deal with Hutch to provide broadband based services on the Mobile phones to its approximate 21 million subscribers in India. The service would be launched in January, early next year and it would be providing Net surfing capability along with e-mailing and instant messaging capabilities. The subscribers would also be able to download video and audio files on their mobile devices through the service.

A chair for the lounge and toned abs

I was watching the products on the TV show where they bring in totally new and different and innovative products and they sell it just on TV. You do not find them in regular shops and they are offered on huge discounts on the TV.

While I do not consider discounts a big motivator, I do think that the novelty of an item makes it a good candidate for consideration. I had been looking for a nice lounge chair for some days when I noticed this ab lounge 2 on tvoverstocks.com which doubled as the ab cruncher.

Although it seem comfortable and according to my liking but I was not able to take fancy with the fabric that they had on it. Actually there was no information about it on the site and I would have probably bought it if I would have had some info about the fabric quality and make.

In flight phone and text services

Emirates are the first company which are going to offer text and voice based phone services on their international flights. They have announced that they would start the services early next year. The first route on which these services which would be billed as international roaming calls would be offered would be Dubai-London.

There would be a cap of 5 calls per seat which is same as the existent limit of the fixed line seat telephone calls. Although the airlines company has already gotten into a deal with the technology company but the implementation of the phone services depend on the approval by the regulatory and security agencies.

Everything is going out for free

I have received some emails from my readers who wanted to know more about the free stuff that I was talking about on my blog. There are some really great websites out there which provide genuine stuff along with articles and suggestion for free. They don't even ask for the shipping charges in some cases.

One of such excellent site which has great sections offering "free stuff for babies", "free wedding stuff", "free food", "free coupons", "free stuff for pets" has virtually sections for everything including those listed.

I myself was going through the website choosing some of the stuff that I could ask for when I found that they have listed a Romance kit for free too. Another reason for all you sleep-deprived fiends to go rocking :D

Kerio has just launched a MailServer verion 6.3 which supports the Mail push support on Windows Mobile based Smart phones and PDA's.

All new users can configure the connection Over The Air with Kerio Mail Server which supports majority of Microsoft OS based wireless devices which include Pocket PC, Windows Mobile 2003 and Windows Mobile 2005. The best part being no need of any installation of any kind on client side.

Through this the users can import E-mails, contacts from Address books and calender to their wireless devices. Another great feature of the Kerio Server is that the administrators can delete the data from the synchronized devices, which are lost, using MSFP [Messaging and Security Feature Pack].

Jen is a great comedienne

The problem with the comedy shows on TV these days is that they seem to rely more and more on slapstick rather than the genuine non-action words based comedy. Every other body seems to be happy with comedians shaking their butts and not using their heads to make people laugh. All these unintelligent human ways irritate me, at least.

Sometimes when you see old movies from the 70's, it seems that the comedy has not grown since then. People still like stooges and stooges like being stooges on stage.

But to provide great respite to some of the people like me, there are comediennes like Jennifer Dziura.



She knows the nerve of the crowd and knows how to hit it too. She blogs and she is a hilarious comedienne! She has a website of her by the name of Jenisfamous.com.
